MARIONETTE THEATRE — CRIMSON CURTAINS, A PAINTED STARFIELD, SMALL PHILOSOPHER PUPPETS RESTING IN THE WINGS. The four stand centre-stage, and overhead the wooden control crossbars hang ready — and bare. No strings. Cosmo looks up, braced for the puppeteer. There is none. The whole collection has trained him to look for the hand. This stage simply removed it.
