"Not all those who wander are lost." — J.R.R. Tolkien (d. 1973, from work published before 1956) 🔮 THE PLOT TWIST: INT. — A VAST UNFURLED ANTIQUE MAP, ITS SURFACE A WHOLE FLOOR. Nova trots across it leaving glowing golden circuit-footprints; Cosmo follows behind, holding a chart and trying to match it to the ground. Cosmo keeps glancing from chart to floor, anxious that he is off the route. Then he sees Nova's footprints and understands which way the cartography actually runs. Nova is not following the map. She is making it. The golden trail behind her IS the map, written by walking. The chart in Cosmo's hands records yesterday's brave steps; the map of today is still warm under Nova's feet. 💡 THE INSIGHT: A map is just a record of where the brave already walked. Someone has to make the footprints first. 📐 THE EQUATION: a chart = footprints, after they cooled 🚀 Cosmo (chart in hand): "Nova, slow down — you're walking off the map! …Oh. You're not off it.
