Cosmo and Nova stand before a geode the size of a doorway, and inside it, carved from the same purple light, a figure sits perfectly still. Cosmo waits for it to be a stranger. It isn't. The longer he looks, the more the silhouette settles into something he half-recognises — a version of himself with the noise turned all the way down. The cave didn't put the calm there.
