Cosmo stands dead centre, the only figure with a bare face, surrounded by costumed crowds and lantern-masks. He looks exposed, out of place. The twist flips which thing is strange: in a plaza where everyone has chosen a face to wear, the genuinely unusual, genuinely brave object is a person simply being themselves. Cosmo isn't underdressed.
