Cosmo sits on a coral ledge. Nova hovers before a doorway the reef itself has somehow grown — sculpted, ornate, deliberate. Stella stands gesturing among shells and a row of patterned eggs. Cosmo waits, as one waits at a door, for it to be explained: where does it go, what is it for, what is the trick. But the reef did not build the door as a puzzle.
