Cosmo sits eyes-closed and content on a bench, his backpack beside him, a sign reading HAPPINESS DEPENDS UPON OURSELVES. The twist is the backpack. Cosmo has travelled — the bag is proof of it, of every other village, every other view he chased hoping it would finally contain the good feeling. And here he is, eyes shut, perfectly content, on an ordinary stone bench, having put the bag down. The lesson is not that the journey was pointless. It is that the contentment he kept searching for in landscapes was, the whole time, a thing he was carrying — and could only feel once he stopped to set the bag down. 💡 THE INSIGHT: You can travel the whole map chasing a feeling.
