Cosmo tumbles through the howling spiral, but he is not lost: a glowing rope runs from him to Stella, who stands firm on a cliff and holds it. Nova floats calm inside the lightning. Kierkegaard named the feeling exactly — anxiety is the dizziness of freedom, the swoon you get from standing somewhere you genuinely could fall. The vortex does not deny the dizziness. It answers it. The rope does not stop the storm or cancel the drop. It just means the freedom to leap and the safety to come back are, for once, the same length of golden cord.
